A telephone prayer chain has been in effect for at least 12 years and we continue to use this avenue of communication for those without the Internet. However, because of the volume of telephone calls, and the need for improvement, the email prayer chain became effective February 1, 2001. Nurturing by communicating is what we strive to do, so the prayer chain has also become a communication tool to pass information to the congregation. In order for the prayer chain to be effective, it takes discipline by each prayer partner to make his or her respective calls. There are 16 prayer partners who make telephone calls to 48 homes. The email prayer chain reaches 41 addresses. To respect and insure the privacy of individuals needing prayer, we will not submit any information through the prayer chain regarding their health conditions, diagnosis, or hospital room number unless permission has been given by the person needing prayer to the person submitting the request.
