Brad’s
first pastoral appointment was with Great Bridge United Methodist
Church in Chesapeake, Virginia. He served four years as the congregation’s
first associate pastor. Since June 2004, Brad has been blessed to
serve as pastor of Gogginsville United Methodist Church.
In the years
before entering the pastorate, Brad’s settings for ministry
included serving as the summer camp program director for two different
United Methodist camps in Virginia. While in seminary, Brad was
commissioned by Carter Memorial United Methodist Church in Needham,
Massachusetts to serve on staff as the student pastor. Brad has
also done additional work as a church musician for churches in Virginia
and Massachusetts.
Brad’s
particular areas of vocational interest include preaching, postmodern
evangelism, Christian education, Wesleyan studies, and liturgy and
worship. While he loves pastoral ministry, and finds his gifts the
most fully utilized there, he is also a musician, and finds spiritual
fulfillment in hearing and performing classical music, as well as
folk and bluegrass.
Besides his
baptism, Brad’s greatest honor in life is to be the husband
of Kimberly Allison Dulaney. Kim is a native of Hampton, Virginia,
and is a graduate of the University of Virginia (B.A.), and Boston
University School of Theology (M.T.S.). Kim received her M.D. from
Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia, and is now
practicing Family Medicine with Carilion Medical Associates, Rocky
Mount.. Brad and Kim have two children: Zora (age 4), and Jesse
William (age 1). They also enjoy hiking, backpacking, and canoeing
together. In addition to these things, Brad also enjoys running,
reading and woodworking.
